There is a song with an appeal....

....in it.  Come to think of it, there's far more than one such song.  But the appeal I'm thinking of is - 'I don't believe in fussing or grieving, worries or cares or strife.  Give me the simple life.'   But it's an appeal based on a misunderstanding. All we are given is life which is intrinsically simple.
The complications come from us - and though we can argue that they come from each other, we have the right to reject them when they are imposed. We give them to ourselves.

Human beings are the only animals that blush, or need to.  (Mark Twain)
