Still, though, we have to ask whether in the desire to avoid upsetting an apple cart, you are leaving an awful lot of rotten apples to fester at the bottom of the pile. You can argue that it doesn't matter as long as you keep putting fresh ones on the top. But sooner or later, you are going to end up overwhelmed by the distinct smell of cider vinegar.
